In Europe, Renault is one of the best manufacturers, especially in the minivan segment. Its 2021 Renault Espace is an established model that is more and more popular. However, the French automaker is having a bigger picture in mind and want to deliver the Espace model on basically every continent. This minivan runs on its fifth generation and is present for 35 years.
It managed to sale almost 1.4 million units. That is an impressive figure especially as the customers fell in love with MPVs in the last decade. For 2021, Espace comes with minor design changes and a couple of new interior features. As for the performance, this minivan will offer three engine options, single gasoline and two diesel units.
2021 Espace Exterior Facelift
The forthcoming 2021 Renault Espace represent the fifth-gen model. Renault is introducing a couple of exteriors and interior upgrades and new technologies. The exterior is the main reason why people are into this minivan. It is far from a premium design but it does look attractive and upright. Innovative lines and sharp front fascia are also impressive in every possible way.
Renault will showcase this model in the coming months, and we’ll see what new 2021 Espace has to offer. The French carmaker said the facelift is going to happen, but don’t expect significant changes such as complete redesign. According to numerous reports, this MPV offers new LED adaptive headlights, restyled front bumper, new skid plates and new oval exhaust outlets.
You can buy a new 2021 Renault Espace in two different seating configurations. First and standard setup includes a room for five passengers while the second one comes with seven seats. The comfort is great, upholstery is upscale and even the interior colors are gorgeous. The range-topping Paris version offers leather upholstery finished in Black Titanium or Light Sand-Grey colors. Front seats are offering massage capabilities and are 10-way adjustable.
For 2021, Espace will get a new glass roof (picture below) on all trim levels. Cargo area is generous and the interior looks very modern. Center console is restyled and it now comes with closed storage with holders and USB ports. As for the displays, this MPV offers a 9.3 and 10.2-inch touchscreens. Android Auto, Apple CarPlay, navigation, and numerous driver-assistance aids are offered as standard.
Three Engine Options
This is another good thing about this minivan. The approaching 2021 Renault Espace comes with three powertrain options. That includes a single gasoline engine and two diesels. However, the gasoline engine is offered exclusively on the high-performance Alpine A110 model. It is a 1.8-liter four-cylinder that generates 225 horsepower.
Moreover, it comes with a 7-speed automatic transmission. As for the diesel, both are 2.0-liter displacements. Blue dCi engine is good for 160 hp while EDC can produce 200 horses. Unlike the gasoline, diesel engines are using a 6-speed automatic gearbox.
