Huge news from the Opel/Vauxhall brand as this group plans to electrify most of its new vehicles. Whatsoever, the plan is to deliver eight plug-in models, while the electrification of the entire portfolio should be done by 2024. The all-new 2021 Opel Combo Life is just one of the eight models that will gain hybrid powertrain.
This minivan offers a large interior and is an affordable model. Still, its shape is too van-esque, while the rest of the segment is opting for the SUV-like design. If you can go past its not so exciting appearance, Combo Life is one very interesting and practical model. Here’s what to expect from this minivan in the years to come.
2021 Combo Life Exterior Facelift
Unfortunately, the 2021 Opel Combo Life will continue with its boxy shape. That is the main issue with this minivan, and it really looks like a box, but only with windows. Sure, it isn’t the most stylish minivan, either. However, if you want something more practical, this is a model for you.
Combo Life offers two side-access sliding rear doors. Thanks to that, you can access the vehicle or get out of it with ease. 16-inch alloy wheels are looking good and are offered as standard. The front part comes with a body-colored bumper and fog lights.
Unlike the exterior design, the interior looks much better. The 2021 Opel Combo Life is available in both five-seat and seven-seat configurations. The cabin is both roomy and practical. Moreover, access is perfect. Tech-wise, this minivan includes an 8-inch touchscreen, Android Auto, Apple CarPlay, and even voice recognition.
Optionally, you can buy a 180-degree panoramic rear-view camera. Additionally, numerous driver-assistance features are available. Thanks to that, safety is another strong point of this minivan. Combo Life also offers plenty of storage behind the rear seats.
First Even Plug-In Hybrid Option
Under the bonnet, this minivan will offer two engine options. Depending on the market, you can get either 1.2-liter gasoline or 1.5-liter diesel displacement. There’s not much to be said about these two engines, except that both units are delivering around 100 horsepower. Moreover, the ride is smooth and comfortable, which is the most important thing about this minivan. Now, here’s the interesting part. The 2021 Opel Combo Life will get its first plug-in hybrid option.
According to Opel/Vauxhall group, eight models will gain the same system by 2021. On top of that, the company’s entire lineup will feature this system by 2024. Combo Life is just one of the models that will feature this technology. Corsa-e and Grandland X are already offering this system. Vivaro van, Zafira Life, and new Opel Astra will also get the same treatment in 2021.
2021 Opel Combo Life Price and Release Date
As for the pricing details, the new 2021 Opel Combo Life will start between $20,000 and $25,000. Third-row of seats will be optional, just like the hybrid powertrain. We are still waiting for Opel/Vauxhall to release exact hybrid specs. The company’s latest minivan will hit the markets in the second half of 2020.
