Year after year, the German automaker is improving safety systems in its vehicles. New 2021 Mercedes-Benz Sprinter is no different and it will gain new aids. Thanks to that, the list of driver-assistance features has been additionally expanded. From now on, you can opt for a rear cross-traffic alert, parking assist and active lane-keeping assist.
Moreover, Sprinter comes with active cruise control, braking assist, a new rearview camera, and windshield-wiper cleaning system. Indeed, the list of standard equipment is quite impressive and Sprinter is definitely one of the most modern vans nowadays. Besides that, Mercedes will deliver a couple of exterior modifications. However, the updates are barely visible.
2021 Sprinter Interior Specs
Thanks to its comfortable and modern interior design, Sprinter is a very popular choice in the van segment. The cabin looks so refined and is full of high-quality materials. The 2021 Mercedes-Benz Sprinter provides a quiet ride and you won’t break your back after the long trips. The credit goes to the unique shape of the seats and premium upholstery. Moreover, the Swivel Seat package is available and is more than recommended.
This feature will help you to get in and out of the van. Thanks to its full-size dimensions, the interior is more than spacious. Interestingly, Sprinter provides 523.6 cubic feet of space. That is surely more than some apartments. More importantly, it is more than Ford Transit has to offer. There will be room for 12 persons. We don’t know why are there so many seats, but if you have 12 kids, congratulations.
Two Engine Options
The all-new 2021 Mercedes-Benz Sprinter offers two engine options. Each variant of the full-size van comes with a standard 2.0-liter turbo-four gasoline powertrain. It can produce up to 188 hp and it uses a 9-speed automatic transmission. As you can see, this engine does not deliver that much power for such a large vehicle. However, it is efficient and it gets the job done if you are using it for light-duty work.
On the other hand, optional 3.0-liter V6 diesel is also rated at 188 horsepower. However, its torque rating is significantly higher, 325 lb-ft to be precise. Diesel offers a 7-speed automatic transmission and it can tow up to 5,000 pounds. Four-wheel-drive is a unique system for this segment and Ford Transit’s all-wheel-drive setup is the only competitor.
