2020 Toyota Sienna Redesign, Hybrid

The Sienna has always been considered to be one of the best minivans around. Even the current model, which is among the oldest models in the class, seems pretty competitive in many aspects. This model offers a hi-quality interior and many other great characteristics. Still, it really needs some refreshment in terms of overall design, so many reports suggest a complete overhaul for the next year, for 2020 Toyota Sienna. At the moment, we haven’t got official confirmation. Still, the current model is already present on the market for more time than we used from earlier Sienna models. Seems like a clear indicator that changes are about to come pretty soon.

2020 Toyota Sienna Redesign

The current generation of this minivan is present for almost nine years, which means that it still rides on the previous-generation K Platform. The new 2020 Toyota Sienna is about to get the company’s new TNGA architecture, which is about to bring lots of improvements. Compared to the current model, we can expect much better dynamics and overall driving experience. On the other side, dimensions should remain pretty similar. A couple of inches in wheelbase and overall length is all we can expect from the new model, but the body, on the other side, will be completely new. Despite two updates, the current generations clearly show its age and this is the aspect where we should see lots of novelties. Expect the application of the brand’s newest design language, though the overall shape is about to remain pretty much the same.

Despite the age, the cabin of current Sienna looks surprisingly fresh. Even in terms of style, the dashboard and other parts of the cabin look pretty modern. Not to mention the amazing quality of all materials and a long list of standard equipment. The upcoming redesign will definitely make things even better. Still, the base layout won’t change. Once again, we expect to see 2020 Toyota Sienna in two seating configurations. Base models will be able to accommodate up to 8 passengers.

On the other side, higher trims will feature the captain’s chairs in the second row, so the capacity will be for 7 passengers. Of course, another aspect where we expect to see improvements are tech features. The current model is already on a pretty high level in this aspect, but the 2020 Toyota Sienna will be even better. This refers to safety systems as well. The current model already comes with lots of them, but the new one will come with even models. Also, expect further improvements in terms of crash tests ratings, as well as some of the self-driving technologies.

2020 Toyota Sienna Engine

The engine lineup of the current-generation model has been updated a few years ago. So, we don’t expect bigger changes in the new generation, at least for initial years of production. The 2020 Toyota Sienna will continue with a familiar 3.5-liter V6 engine, which is good for about 295 horsepower. This is the most powerful engine among minivans in North America, which also offers very good mpg ratings. Fuel economy is on par with other class leaders, such as Chrysler Pacifica and Honda Odyssey, and it goes around 19 mpg in the city and 28 on the highway. A great advantage is that the Sienna is the only MPV that offers all-wheel drive. Of course, the new generation should continue in the same way. In the future, there is a chance to see a hybrid powertrain in the offer as well.

2020 Toyota Sienna Release Date and Price

The 2020 Toyota Sienna still waits for the official confirmation. However, this redesign seems like a certain thing. In the worst case, it could only be prolonged for another year. In terms of price, things should remain the same. The current model goes in a range between 31.000 and 49.000 dollars and the new one shouldn’t go far away from that.
