Two years after the discontinuation, we can already hear stories about the new version of this minivan, which could come back already next year, as 2020 Nissan Quest. The Quest was Nissan’s represented in the segment of MPVs, where some of the most popular models are Toyota Sienna, Chrysler Pacifica, Honda Odyssey etc.
The last version of this minivan lacked in many aspects, so it was no wonder that sales numbers weren’t so good, which eventually ended with discontinuation in 2016. Two years later, we can already hear lots of rumors about the all-new, fifth generation. So far, it is all about speculations, so you should take all these details with a big dose of a reserve.
2020 Nissan Quest Redesign
After a two-year break, this MPV could easily come back, if we can trust the latest reports. This would mean a completely new design, with lots of improvements. The previous model had a lot of drawbacks, so Nissan engineers will definitely have a lot of work to do. Of course, the core will be a new architecture. Naturally, it should be the company’s new CMF platform, which is in use for a pretty long list of Nissan and Renault models. In this case, we expect to see a few modifications.
In terms of dimensions, we expect on a few more inches compared to the previous models. This means something like 120 inches in a wheelbase. Of course, expect to see a completely new styling as well, with lots of visual novelties and adaptation to the company’s newest design language. Another aspect that should come with improvements is safety. This refers no only to more advanced safety systems, but also to a design that will provide higher crash tests ratings.
2020 Nissan Quest Interior Design
This is another aspect where we expect to see significant improvements. The previous generation features a lot of space, but interior quality was obviously a big drawback. So, expect to see plenty of improvement in this aspect. Thanks to the expected longer wheelbase, we should see more cargo space as well. This was another weak point of the previous model.
In terms of base design characteristics, the 2020 Nissan Quest should be able to accommodate eight passengers. Of course, this will reduce to seven in higher trims, which should be available in variants with second-row captain’s chairs. Of course, expect to see lots of the latest tech features in the offer as well. Already base models should come with things like the newest infotainment system, large touchscreens, multi-zone climate control, latest safety systems and much more.
2020 Nissan Quest Engine
One of the rare strong points of the previous-generation model was the engine. It was characterized by lots of power, combined with high mpg ratings. It used a familiar 3.5-liter V6, which was for this occasion tuned to 260 horsepower. Also, it was able to return around 20 mpg in the city and 27 on the highway. So, the 2020 Nissan Quest will probably continue in the same way. It should feature the same engine, though with few modifications that will provide more power and maybe even some improvements in terms of fuel economy. Some reports also suggest a hybrid version of the 2020 Nissan Quest. At the moment, we don’t have any reliable info about this powertrain. Still, it would definitely be a great addition that would make this MPV more competitive.
2020 Nissan Quest Release Date and Price
The comeback of this MPV is still just a rumor at the moment. So you should take it with a dose of a reserve. If it arrives, we are pretty sure that the company will play on an affordability card, considering that the previous model wasn’t very successful. So, base models would probably go around 27/28.000 dollars.
You’ve got a typo under the 2020 Nissan Quest redesign. Second to last sentence, This refers no only to more advanced safety systems. Should be, This refers not only to more advanced safety systems. Not being critical. I love Nissan. Let’s get it right !!
