2020 Kia Sedona Release date and Price

According to the latest reports, the 2020 Kia Sedona is about to receive a mid-cycle update. The versatile minivan has been around for full two decades. The current model represents the third generation and it is on the market since 2015, so the upcoming update seems pretty logical. At the moment, the update is just rumor, so we don’t have exact details about the changes. Still, we are pretty sure that base design characteristics are about to remain unchanged. On the other side, expect to see novelties in terms of styling, as well as on the inside. Longer lists of standard equipment seem like a certain thing. Finally, some changes under the hood would be nice, considering that the current engine isn’t among the most efficient units in the class. Expect to see 2020 Sedona sometime in the second half of the next year.

2020 Kia Sedona Design

In terms of base design characteristics, the 2020 Kia Sedona will definitely continue in the same way. It will continue to ride on the same platform that underprints the company’s popular crossover Sorento. Such design provides pretty comfortable ride, while the agility and overall driving dynamics are on a pretty high level as well. On the other side, styling changes seem like a certain thing. The current model is present since 2015, so next year would be a perfect time to see some novelties. Of course, this will be a classic facelift, with focus on the front end. Expect to see tweaks to the areas like headlights, grille, front fascia etc. Both bumpers should receive some reshapings as well. Finally, expect to see a couple of new colors in the offer, as well as new wheels designs. The overall shape, though, will remain completely the same.

2020 Kia Sedona Interior

With minivans, it is pretty much all about comfort and interior features. This one is not an expectation at all. It can accommodate seven passengers, in three rows of seats. First two rows are very spacious and comfortable. On the other side, the third row is a little bit tighter compared to rivals like Honda Odyssey or Toyota Sienna. In terms of materials quality, the Sedona ranks pretty high. You can count on massive and comfortable seats, lots of soft-touch materials and pretty attractive dashboard design. So, updates for 2020 Kia Sedona interior will probably be minimal, at least in terms of design. On the other side, expect to see more standard equipment. The base equipment organization should remain unchanged, with five trim levels in the offer – L, LX, EX, SX and SX Limited. Each version should receive new standard features.

2020 Kia Sedona Engine

The engine of the current version is some kind of a mixed bag. It is a familiar 3.3-liter V6 engine, which is good for about 275 horsepower. Such amount of power provides pretty strong acceleration numbers, while the overall ride quality is pretty good. However, fuel economy is on a lower level, compared to other minivans in the class. It goes around 17 mpg in the city and 24 on the highway. For comparison, models like Honda Odyssey and Toyota Sienna return around 19 mpg in the city and 28 mpg on the highway. So, few tweaks to the engine for this update, which would improve overall efficiency for a bit are definitely welcome.
