If we can rely on rumors from both parts of the world where this large MPV is sold, the 2020 Ford Galaxy is about to come with some updates. The famous model has been around for more than 23 years. During this period, we have seen three generations of it. While the original model was in a close relation with VW Sharan, the current one is Ford’s exclusive. It is based on the popular large sedan Mondeo and the current version is on the market since 2015.
Considering that the update should come in about a year, it will represent the fifth year of the current generation. This definitely seems like a perfect timing to see a major update. 2020 Ford Galaxy Exterior Design
Let’s start with those things that definitely won’t suffer. Of course, we are talking about base design characteristics. It will continue to ride on a familiar CD4 platform and to share most of its mechanics with the popular large sedan Mondeo. The popular sedan, which in these days also comes in liftback and station wagon body styles, is on the market since 2014 and it was updated already two years later. Meanwhile, the company has introduced a couple of other new models, including a new Focus, which is the aspect of styling also seems like a bit of inspiration for the large MPV.
All this is a clear indicator that the 2020 Ford Galaxy should come with some visual upgrades. Of course, the overall MPV layout will remain pretty much unchanged, but a new face seems certain. Still, don’t count on anything radical. The base Zetec already includes things like an 8-inch touchscreen, Bluetooth, parking sensor, automatic climate control etc. The Titanium adds standard features like navigations, cruise control, automatic headlights, automatic wipers, rear privacy glass etc. When it comes to the flagship Titanium X, count on things like leather upholstery, heated seats, panoramic sunroof, power tailgate and much more.

This MPV is available on various markets, so the palette of engines is pretty wide. You can count on gasoline units like 1.5-liter EcoBoost with 160 horsepower, but diesel engines definitely dominate. Of course, there is a familiar 2.0-liter engine, which comes in several output variants, with 120, 150, 180 horses etc.
2020 Ford Galaxy Release Date and Price
Considering expected changes, the 2020 Ford Galaxy should come a little bit earlier. Probably in the third quarter of next year. On the other side, the price should remain the same. This means somewhere between 30.000 and 33.000 dollars for the base model, depending on the market.
