2019 Renault Espace Facelift, Changes

The French manufacturer is preparing some revisions for the 2019 Renault Espace. The testing model has been spotted and it looks like there is a fine number of interesting changes to come. Of course, the focus will be on visual updates, but there are reports that also suggest changes under the hood.

The current model represents the fifth generation of this large and practical minivan. It is on the market since 2015, so this year seems perfect for an update. This model still has a small but hardcore fanbase and the company definitely has a lot of reasons to carry on with production. Moreover, the 2019 Renault Espace will come even better.

Count on a familiar high level of functionality and comfort, this time with upgraded styling and a new powertrain. The new model should arrive and hit the market in the next couple of months.

2019 Renault Espace Design Changes

These days when crossovers dominate the market, carmakers usually don’t pay much attention to minivans. Still, some of the models are still in a demand, like this one. Therefore, Renault definitely has a lot of good reasons to invests in further improvements of this large car. The Espace is a typical people carrier, at least when it comes to base design characteristics and this aspect definitely won’t change. On the other side, like most French cars, this one also delivers plenty of styles. So, we might not see too many changes in general, but the upcoming refresh is about to make this minivan even more stylish.

The 2019 Renault Espace has been spotted on testing. That happened recently, in Scandinavia. The company chose a pretty interesting location, full of snow and ice, maybe to hide from photographers. Fortunately, they failed. You can find lots of spy shots on the internet that perfectly show which areas of the vehicle are about to come with novelties.

2019 Renault Espace Styling

The styling takes the central place in this refresh, which seems pretty usual. The current generation is on the market since 2015 and considering that it rides on the newest version of the company’s familiar CMF platform, we can definitely consider it a fresh car. On the other side, the company prepares a fine number of aesthetical changes for the 2019 Renault Espace. The testing model wears camouflages, so guessing which areas are about to suffer isn’t that hard. Judging on the covered areas, we can easily conclude that the focus will be on the front end.

The new model is about to receive a new front bumper, as well as a completely new face, based on the brand’s latest design language. Taillights and few more parts on the rear end are also on the menu. In practice, expect a lot of influence from the new Kadjar, which is currently one of the freshest models in the lineup. Still, the overall shape won’t change, so count of familiar proportions. From the side, the 2019 Renault Espace will remain the same, though it seems likely to see new wheels design and maybe a few more color options in the offer.

2019 Renault Espace Interior

The Espace still makes good sales results but it definitely isn’t that big moneymaker that company can afford bigger changes on the inside. After all, it really doesn’t need cabin changes, we would say. Designed primarily to be people carrier, it delivers this with a lot of styles. The cabin looks pretty upscale and features lots of quality materials. Of course, comfort is on a pretty high level as well. You can count on three rows of very spacious seats. Besides comfort and excellent supports, these seats are pretty functional and practical, so you can configure the last two rows in pretty much any way you want. Of course, there is a fine amount of tech goodies as well. You will find most of them on a massive center stack, which nicely combines digital and physical controls, and features quite easy to use the infotainment system.

2019 Renault Espace Engine

Some reports also suggest revisions under the hood. The current model is available in three powertrain versions. There are two variants of a familiar 1.6-liter dCi turbodiesel engine. Base versions are good for about 130 hp, but a more powerful 160-hp unit is in the offer as well. In both cases, you can count on pretty amazing fuel economy, rather than great performance.

Fortunately, a gasoline engine is in the offer as well. It is a familiar 1.8-liter turbo-four unit that delivers around 225 horsepower. Latest reports suggest revisions on this engine, which could bring even more power. A new diesel option with 200 hp has been rumored as well.

2019 Renault Espace Release Date and Price

The 2019 Renault Espace should hit the market later in the year. We don’t expect bigger changes in price, so base models should go around 39.000 Euros, which tranfered to dollars goes around 45.000.
